A pleasant little season, perfect for chilling and just going along with. I think what compelled me to check this out was the premise reminding me of my dear You’re The Worst. Two people being toxic for each other and everyone else in just the right ways that make them perfect for each other. That was romance and this was- obviously- Platonic, but it’s a similar core if more laid back here. Is this show as good as that one? Not even close. But that it did actually live up to some of those expectations and actually affected me? That’s something. For whatever reason, Byrne and Rogen just have this natural chemistry that makes you buy in on them as two best friends who bring out both the best and worst in each other, and the season ends in such a satisfying and fitting way I have no desire for a second season. I’m not opposed, I’m just content with this little slice of a show.
