Honestly a very strong return to the season with Bright kidnapped and everyone running around trying to find him. Martin gets to come back. Bellamy Young reminds us that she's both a southern girl and why she was picked for a Shonda Rimes show. Everyone is going great work here. Right.. until.... the killer gets scary. When "The Junkyard Killer" decides to kill Bright's family which is engaging enough and the reveal that they are not in his cabin but in the secret basement in the Whitly house all is primed for some killer's delight. Except that since they are where they are that means Jessica and Ainsley should have an easy escape. There's a crowd of reporters outside the house. Part of why they feel safe there is because it's completely illogical for the killer to be there. he shows up they run out the front door. They even manage to knock him down and catch their breath. By all measures it should be an easy escape from there. The entire killer chase sequence is a series of "oh wait let's do something I forgot we should do something". Jessica does great work here but why wait until after patting down Ainsley to try the security lock or barricade the door or grab a weapon. These are all things you should do FIRST and THEN talk to Ainsley. It's just so close to being done well. And yet by comparison to the previous episodes it's still so much better. This is a show I would recommend to people. Even though I have so many questions about why no one in this killer chase situation at any point just left the house to tell the reporters. Why no screaming? Reporters are there day and night in a situation like this. SOMEONE would have heard something.
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................................
a show this good ALWAYS get cancelled, lets hope the execs don't have their collective heads up their assess
Yeah, sure. Don't call the police. Don't get the gun. Why would you? It's not like there's a psycho mass murderer in the house or anything. Oh, wait.
Also, alarms have batteries. They don't just stop working when the power goes out. C'mon writers!

I'm disappointed it was resolved so quickly. I would've liked it to have lasted two or three episodes, at the very least. Only lasting one episode was very anticlimactic, literally. It was an enjoyable episode with good moments, otherwise.
