Absolutely brilliant!
Netflix trailer showed this spoken in Norwegian with subtitles, when in fact it’s actually dubbed. Which of course makes it more appealing to watch.
The trailer was also poor, it really didn’t show a glimpse of how great the show was.
I actually put it on by accident and truly glad it did. What a brilliant depiction of the myths.
It’s a dark and down to earth show, with a great storyline which builds up with suspense. It’s very different to anything else and so well done.
My only minor complaint is it’s not the best dubbing. Which slightly takes away from the enjoyment. But, I like Netflix because they do bring fantastic new series to our screens that are dubbed. Unfortunately, not many people want to watch a show with subtitles, which is fair as it’s difficult to concentrate on the show if you’re reading subtitles. Some shows are dubbed brilliantly and some not, but I don’t be put off by this. I think some of my favourite shows are dubbed; such as ‘Black Spot’, ‘Dark’ and ‘Kingdom’ to name a few.
Really looking forward to the next season and more shows from other countries.
Sadly only 6 episodes, I was really getting deeply involved.
A huge thumbs up from me :)
It's not excellent, but fun to watch.
Majorly disappointed with the last season, bruhhh guy turns out to be dreaming this all time. Then what's the point of this epic story and it's soooooo rushed for a disappointed ending
Excited that Season 2 will be shown next week. I’ve rewatched season 1, it’s been nearly 1.5yrs. I enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
If you haven’t seen this...turn it on now!
A hidden gem. underrated. characters have depth
I know the main character isn't smart. They beat you over the head with his learning disabilities and inability to connect with his peers. But do they need to make him a complete idiot?
it's frustrating to watch everyone he trusts one by one betray him...yet he just goes ahead and continues trusting others not realizing they are all a part of the same system.
it's frustrating to watch.
How does he not see this stuff coming from a mile away? The show telegraph's almost every move. Zero surprises, zero twists. It's so predictable.
Further, the other important characters are either good or evil. No real complexity you're clearly delineated in the colors of black or white.
However, despite all these flaws, you root for the hero. Why? because the show works so hard at not giving you an option. There is no one else to have any sympathy for but the hapless, strong kid.
Really enjoyed this. Wasn't sure at first if it was just going to be another mediocre high school supernatural show but it was much more than that. Intelligent, thought provoking, well made, good performances. Only 6 episodes so easy to watch in one night.
First 2 seasons were great!
The 3rd? Pure shit.
Really? He's schizophrenic! It was all in his head. That's the ending they chose.
We want more Thor, norsk Thor!
Was a fantastic show up until the start of season 3. Season 3 was a departure from how good this show was, a huge change in quality. It felt rushed, akin to GoT ending. The whole "it was in your head the whole time" was a slap in the face of fans who genuinely loved this show. If I could unwatch season 3 I would. If you love this show, do yourself a favour and skip season 3. NOT WORTH IT. Enjoy the show that it was, and keep that as your memory of it.
So we just witnessed someones hallucinations for 3 years lmao that's some wild way to end this shit but still makes sense without breaking reality
S1 is good , S2 is bad and S3 ends well but have to be patient till the end .
Umpteen episodes in and the main character still has zero clue what he's up to. Imagine the Norse god Thor as a clumsy 18-year-old with the mental age of 13 ... and it's not a comedy. A silly juvenile affair.
So far really good. The history is so dense and rich.
TLDR: starts ok, but I have one word for the rest of the series, especially the ending. Lazy.
There were so many interesting concepts in this show... the photography, the music, the action style, like that first fight between Vida and Magne. Damn they were soo cool. but the show goes on and starts ruining everything bit by bit.
It has one of the laziest endings I've ever seen. Totally out of the blue and uncalled for. One the left muuuch more questions(and bad ones) than answers and closing. This type of thing could be considered clever a few decades ago. But it's so overplayed now that It's just annoying.
It mostly feels like the had only 5 episodes and netflix forced them to make the 6th.
Think about series that does this right... like Mr robot. It's subtil, but you can see that first season plot twist from the beginning if you pay attention, like people not acknowledging Mr robot at all, or only interacting with Elliot every time they're together.
Here the show doesn't tell you that the narrator is actually magne, but it's states as that judging by the awful ending. Many crucial plot points go directly against the ending if you consider the many scenes from woltan, ima, and the Giants perspective that had nothing to do with magne. What about that psychologist... Ran explicitly tells him all the major plot points from the mythology perspective to him..
Also, wtf was that with Fjor... they started building his character towards something really dark, murders from left to right, and then... all the sudden... no, it's all good... "I found a woman for me"... and everything is fine.
Seriously... Netflix would have done us a favor if they had canceled after season 2.
This was a major let down for me. The series was never good to begin with... it was kinda interesting at first, even with all the terrible dialog(and no... I don't accept that all the unsettling dialog and things that happened were because of the ending. That's just more lazy writing) and stories unfolding every episode, I hopped it would have some good follow up, but no... it's just bad. Really bad.
This show was amazing until the last two episodes. I will pretend that they don’t exist. The last season was my favorite, but only 4/6 of it was good.
I like how he went from nerd to an actual Thor figure
A very good show, i recommend you to watch this show, of you interested in history
An interesting concept of linking climate change and environmental terrorism with Norse GODS and GAINTS !!
I saw the chemistry between Magne and Saxa way before that happened . Although cast had an overall decent acting there are some really bad actors and plot holes that makes this an okay watch !
I am very fond of this show. These are beings very similar to us except for some powerful abilities we don't have, which is a pretty good description of the Nordic "gods" if you go read the Edda. Of course, the giants here are made out to be malevolent destroyers of the earth, which isn't so accurate, as they are of the earth. Still it's fun to watch the characters' development from careless self centered teens to responsible adults with a touch of fantasy and landscape on the side.
I'm not into super heroes or gender bending, apart from this the series is surprisingly good and I recommend it. Love the setting
What did I think? ... Wow. I think i'm glad i came across this hidden gem that is, Ragnarok!
I watched the first couple episodes. I'm surprisingly actually enjoying it. I have to watch it with English subs unfortunately for me I don't understand Norwegian. So that personally takes away from the enjoyment of the show having to read everything. But I am trying to not let that be a factor in influencing if I like the show or not. I was expecting the show on first glance to be English, and was a bit disappointed it wasn't. However, I do think it has interesting potential as a series. As a story line its intriguing. In other words. I'm trying to give it a chance. I wonder if there is a dubbed version around.
On a side note, the location it was filmed was absolutely stunning and beautiful.
The whole climate spin on things turns me off, comes off a a bit preachy. But that's a personal reaction to it, trying not to let it affect my enjoyment of the series.
Great show based on the "Norse mythology" which discusses climate change and also environmental issue. Who doesnt want the mighty Thor fighting for our world environment? I dig that!! Show started off really well but last few episodes was draggy. I know this show was not meant to showcase good guys vs bad guys fighting scene, but some addition to each episode would have made this very interesting.. And I was dissapointed to only see the God of Thunder use his lightning once! 7/10

Do not watch the third season, and definitely not the final episode.
Season 1: 9
Season 2: 7
Season 3: 1
Overall: 5
Season 1 was great, season 2 was good. Season 3 please don’t watch it.
I was such a fan of this series, but the final season ruined it all. How can you ruin a show so incredibly good… a waste of time this was.
I am mad and disappointed how a show like this can be ruined within 1 season.
Lost for words..
