Rake (US) 2014

The original Australian version is really the >only< version of this series. The US version is a homogenized copy, cancelled quickly after it started airing.

During the Americanization process, the soul of the show was lost in translation. Ideally, FOX would've just bought the rights to the original version and aired it in the states.

Fortunately, seasons 1 & 2 of the original are available for streaming on Netflix: http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/70301553?trkid=2361637

Why does the American entertainment industry insist on taking a hit show from another English speaking country, remove all the good parts of said show, then air it in the US expecting it to be a ratings success.

Do they really think the American audience is so stupid they cannot understand comedy from other countries?

Stay away from this abomination and watch the original if you value your time.

Haha, I find this show to be hilarious and Keegan is such a deranged moron, fantastic!
Too bad it's most likely already cancelled guessing from the move to Friday... oh well, guess I'll watch the original version after this is done. :)

I 100% recommend the aussie version of this show. Richard Roxburgh does an amazing job!

It helps if you've seen the Australian version of Rake with Richard Roxburgh as Cleaver Greene to compare with.

There's just that process where US comedy syndication scours out the fun or comedy aspects. e.g. http://trakt.tv/show/rake and a clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izSGFju1TEk
