With this episode they went back on all the character building they'd done for Crown Prince Jin. He was compassionate, honorable and had strong morals. He wouldn't value power over doing what's right. The true Jin wouldn't have been ok with keeping a throne that didn't belong to him.
He could have been a loving older brother, but also power hungry. But they made him an upstanding guy with a good heart, so his actions this episode were extremely OOC and so disappointing writing-wise. Be true to your characters.
