After finishing season 1 black books, I came to this series. I watch series season by season.
I will copy this to season 1 review also.
I did not read so much about series before starting. I thought it is something like x-files but it seems more like teenage adventures.
I will edit after watching all seasons.
EDIT AFTER EPISODE 1 OF SEASON 1:
Liz parker seems to me like jessica alba in dark angel sometimes. Look, speaking, attitude.
I knew some stars from before. William Sadler from power, flash. Kevin Weisman from run aways. Michael Horse is from twin peaks. There was something like sheriff assistant, too.
EDIT AFTER EPISODE 9 on 121120
For last episodes, this series remind me "being human". They try to behave like humans, feel like humans. They want to destroy the limits of them. They want relations with "humans". Not all of them can manage it. Just like in the series "being human". We can see in real world same. The different people try to be part of "normal" world, every time.
EDIT AFTER SEASON 1 finish on 171120
A nice romantic teen series with different alien story. I really start to like but now I have to go to another series for a season.
The song of season 1 Dido - Here with Me is really beatiful. I will miss it.
I will remember season 1 with those: Max enters the crashdown cafe with a cool attitude and liz sees him. Smiles. They look each other with love. Such moments mostly :) A small, cosy cafe. For next episodes i am not sure if we can see those.
love this shows its sad to see it Go :(

Ten years before "Twilight" there was this teen romantic series where a teenage girl falled in love with an alien. There was a lot of teenage angst and not much that happened at first, but at the end of the first season the show started to embrace it's science fiction roots and became actually rather watchable. It is not as bad as one could expect and the characterization is actually well done. The acting was above average too, but it was sometimes hard to get through all those long "deep" romantic conversations between the two leads. The music was also very modern and up to date at the time. It survived three seasons when it was expected to only last one due to devoted fans and it ended with an okay, but open ending. It is still enormously more satisfying than what "Twilight" ever was.
