I went in without a rewatch and it's.. ok in that respect. I don't feel like I forgot so much I'm confused and they do a good job setting the play ing field. Nadia is still a weird character to me. But at least she's not every other female character on TV so there's that. It's a good promising start.

Russian Doll is one of those shows that could have stood perfectly alone with one season. Right now I'm mostly worried it'll fall into the old trap, doing the same thing as before, but worse.

At least it's not a loop again.

How to even continue a show like Russian Doll?
Poor Nadia has another twister to deal with. I really like that her and Alan have stayed such close friends.

Also when he got off the train the door text in the background was in German. I wonder if his parents lived in Germany in the 80s? And I assume he'll be his own father.

oh my GOD, thank god she didn't screw her father. i was worried it was him lmao

i missed this character SO FCKING MUCH! NO ONE travels in time the way natasha lyonne does! i'm happy i get to see how this all goes. let's go season twooo

Oooo so excited for a new season. Russian Dolls had been one of those Netflix gemstones where they managed to put out some quality and not fuck it up.
Love the new concept. Time travelling - why not!
Although being your own mother could lead to a lot of… let’s call it trouble.

The first season didn't really impress me, but its Groundhog Day concept was interesting (and I'm still a sucker for that kind of thing) and, when I noticed there was a second season, I was very curious to see if they'd just do more of the same, but with different characters. Oh boy, I gotta say I was positively surprised, as having a subway that takes Nadia straight into her mom's body back in the '80s is dope as fudge! I recall having a hard time liking Nadia in the first season, but she eventually grew on me and I was happy to see she's already kicking so much ass in this premiere.

Also, I'm very curious as what the plotline for Alan will be, considering it'll be similar to what happened to Nadia. I hope they'll both be coming back and forth from the past/future/whenever they'll end up traveling to.

This season seems to be cranking things up a notch from the previous one, so I'm definitely binge watching this!

the residual glaring use of green screen in pandemic-affected shows is never gonna stop taking me straight out of a show

I would watch Natasha Lyonne do more boring things than this (and I have), but the body swap factor is maybe a step too far for this show. Also, I know Nadia really went through some weirdness in season one but she sure adapted to her new status quo almost eerily instantaneously.
