Let's be honest, medical dramas don't really reinvent any wheel story-wise these days. Pretty much everything was done before. Nevertheless, just like in episode 2 I have a very, very distinct feeling I saw the plot exactly like that. Episode 2 was covered in Scrubs (not exactly drama, at least in the sense of Grey's, ER and such, sure, but medical nontheless), I instantly knew what was going to happen in that episode. And this one, particularly the rape - the braindead thing was done multiple times, too - from Private Practice and Dr. King. Although much less brutal but still the same. Are the creators trying to make Dawn a more likable character by having her go through the same/similar plot as Dr. King? She was a terrible, mean, condescending and off-putting character up to the point she got raped, typing that out and reading it seems very wrong but it's true. Afterwards she became a much more empathetic and likable person in the show... Or perhaps because it wasn't discovered here, Dawn will be as fierce as she never was before, letting her mood out on others as it was the positive way around before. Oh boy, that drama isn't gonna be good either way.
The series selling point - Charly seeing ghosts - is kind of pushed into the background this season for more direct copying of other medical shows, no matter the preview for next episode. And since Joel is out of the love-triangle, we create a new one with a desperate Dawn back in the picture. Hopefully, I am wrong here. I don't really like the direction this seems to be headed in S4...
