Loved the finale to Shadowhunters. I'm glad they made the special ending to close off the story despite the show not being renewed for another season. I'm still shocked about Clary and her fate.

well im mostly glad that i finally finished it.
I usually don't do this but I see people saying good finale, touching, etc when it has all been wrong. While the cast has been very good, the problem comes down deeper, so spoiler ahead.
... and then the only way to finish with Jonathan is use the runes, saving humankind. What is the reward? Getting stripped of your powers, memories, and beloved ones.
Then they try to fit the "oh she will remember" and try to make us feel happy for that.
But that is wrong. We would, if she sacrificed everything. But that's not the case, she's punished because the angels do not like what she's doing.
So what do "the angels" want? To see an archdemon consume the world? Because with angels rewarding the good acts like that, better to be in the side of the creatures of the hell, as they are no angels, and a god that allows those angels, is no god, but a prepotent dictator.
I can only give a terrible rating to this finale.
It is one of the worst final episodes I have ever seen.
If you want tragic, let a hero die, don't let them get punished for doing only possible thing to stop the apocalypse for f*** sake. If I want to see how the world works i can take a look around me. I don't need TV for that...
In case the books ended the same way, this critique goes to the author as well.

Finally, this series ended! The finale was so bad and most of it made no sense! As a huge fan of the books I was really disappointed, especially with the finale.

What a touching finale. Whatever you say about this show it's nice to see a diverse, talented cast, with good LGBT representation, all ending up happy. I'm actually sorry to see them go.
Although i'm still waiting for a faithful book adaptation; probs not going to happen...
