Amazing show. I was wondering what the fuss is all about until I started watching it, then I just couldn't stop.
Brilliant show!Series 3 was kind of a letdown but overall I highly recommend it.
this and the torchwood mini series, up there as the best shows ever and shame they are so short in season length :(
i miss you benedict!
I never even liked Sherlock Holmes or crime-solving shows like these, but this Sherlock truly won me over. Brilliant show!
Cumberbatch > Downey Jr.
Did it really end? I’d like to know because it’s the BEST show I’ve ever seen. It would be a pity if there won’t be any more episodes T^T.
One of the best shows out there. I have never seen such a masterpiece in all my years of watching TV shows.
First season amazing, drops steadily from there
I heard about this series a long time ago, but I never wanted to watch it, since I was very sceptical about it. As an old school Sherlock Holmes fan, who watched all Basil Rathbone movies, the whole Jeremy Brett Series and more, I never wanted to 'destroy' my view about Holmes by making him a new 21st century character.
I started episode one with a friend, and I immediately knew I was wrong.Yes, this is definitely a different Holmes than it was usually portraited as, but Benedict Cumberbatch nails it. Specially in "The abdominble bride", where he is an traditional Holmes, showed me that Cumberbatch was a perfect choice. He even sounds and looks like Jeremy Brett in this episode.
All in all, so far it was one of the greatest series I have watched.
Absolutely one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's always fun to watch itcan't wait for the 4th season and I'm 100% sure that it's gonna be awesome.
I am literally so surprised with the amount of positive feedback this show gets. Yes, I watch it, No, I don't like it.Moffat will pull any plot twist he can without thinking it through, and never sticks to anything. Season 3 is a massive joke at the end.
It would have been flawless, or as flawless as a moffat-written show can be, to end it at Season 3. Not carry forward by, yet again, pulling the carpet from under viewer's feet to, Spoiler Alert, bring back one of the most "obvious" fake plot points in the entire show.
I don't understand the surprise people face when Moffat changes something we thought to be true... Its his ONLY move when it comes to writing. He has no other talents as a writer.
Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite characters, However BBC Sherlock never ends with me being happy.
I watched all the episodes in one week. This show is great! I wished we could've gotten more "real" Moriarty, though. He was the high point for me. Not all episodes made sense or felt right, which is a bummer, but all in all, a great show!
Amazing show, every single minute of every episode worth it.
Benedict Cumberbatch is fcking amazing.
This is one of the best series I've ever watched! Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) make a great team on the screen. The episodes are more like short movies (1,5 h) and even though there are only 3 episodes per season and about one seaon in 1,5 years, Sherlock is definitely worth the wait and worth watching!
amazing show, both script and acters are great
S1: 9S2: 8S3: 6S4: 7
I kinda wish I hadn’t watched the last two seasons…
Cast 10/10Storytelling 9/10Characters 10/10Video Prouduction/Cut 10/10Environment 3,5/5Conclusion 3/5= 91%
Loved these two so much. Like, so much.
Seriously though, if you're willing to turn your brain off and aren't bothered by how convoluted this show gets then the over dramatic twists and turns may be enough to carry the show for you. That is until, season 4. Don't watch season 4. Even just to make fun of it, it's so bad that it ceases to be funny. Best you can expect from it is a headache and an unquenchable urge to find whoever is responsible for WHOEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE NOT ONE BUT TWO SECRET SIBLINGS. ONE OF WHICH IS A DOG. SHERLOCK REMEMBERS HIS FORGOTTEN BROTHER AS A DOG. WHY? WHO DID THIS? .Don't watch this show if you're looking for some fun mystery solving, to have all the clues laid out in front of you so you have a chance to figure out the mystery for yourself. To come away from each episode with a sense of satisfaction, either from having managed to solve the crime or, as is more often the case, from seeing Sherlock teach you a new way of using lateral thinking. If that's the show you're looking for then watch something else (Jonathan Creek comes to mind although it does sometimes find itself somewhere on the scale between cheesy and downright stupid).
Has it really ended? Can you please post the news of the same.
Bounces between amazing and meh. You might want to stop after a few episodes and just not overthink the show too much.
I loved this show but in my opinion the fourth season was totally unnecessary. I do not like this modern version of Sherlock that much as old ones but it was interesting for sure and cases were really interesting. Unfortunately last season was big disappointment for me and I was quite bored.
An amazing show with one of the best episodes ever aired on television (The Reichenball Fall). Unfortunately, the final season was rather messy. However, it didn't entirely ruin the show, since every season consists of only three episodes.
I don't have a lot of "fan-girl" shows that I watch just because I love certain actors. This show and Supernatural are my only two "fan-girl" shows. That being said I love it!! <3
Kinda love it at first... It was amazing show.... but Sherlock routine somehow just become so boring. Benedict is just overrated. He always give us the same character for every role.
Initially I was going to talk about how amazing Benedict Cumberbatch is in this show...and he is. But the great thing is that the rest of the cast blows you away too! Also, you don’t need to be a fan of the original books to enjoy the series. However, if you have some familiarity with the stories it’s entertaining to see how, from the very beginning, the production deftly pulls it all together and races into the 21st century.
Surely the greatest thing since sliced bread!
What a brilliant show. Great cast.
Amazing show, when you start watching you can't stop.
@calex yeah torchwood is great, they are a bit similar the later seasons of torchwood are in a similar vein episode wise
Absolutely LOVE this show. It's the only one that I can watch repeatedly and still enjoy it as much as the first time.
The best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. And great actors !
Only problem is Irene Adler's portrayal and their treatment of her story.
It looks like Sherlock will return on January 1st! Also, some people watched "A Scandal in Belgravia" in the British Film Institute, a couple days ago.
Sherlock Holmes adaptation set in modern times. Even though advanced technology is available, the case dynamics play out as the most classic Conan Doyle mystery, with lots of surprises and twists along the way (more on that later). I have kept avoiding this show due to its fame as a bromance sensation for fanfiction lovers, but I have to say that it's hands down the best adaptation we have got so far.
You could consider each episode as a full-fledged feature film on its own. The cinematography has been getting better and better with each episode, the work on the characters is excellent, and the writing is consistent throughout. They really nailed Sherlock's characterization as an oddball psychopath (sorry, "high functioning sociopath") as well as his ambiguous relationship with Watson. The fanservice is there, but it's mostly used as a vehicle for humor more than anything else.
Over time the show would get more peculiar case dynamics and also develop creative ways to visually represent Sherlock’s thought processes. At first, it’s mostly text popping up to guide the audience's eye on the important details and cut on dialogue, but especially from the second and third seasons, Sherlock’s “mind palace” would take different appearances each time.
The writing has been both the show's strength and weakness, especially in the last two seasons. After taking the stakes higher at the end of the second season, the writers have kept trying to take it even further but, unfortunately, ended up overdoing it most of the time. It all comes up to revealing absurd secrets from the characters' past, usually with someone familiar pulling the strings of a case for one more final twist. Some choices were understandable, some were plain ridiculous. I always thought that "Sherlock" is at its best when it manages to be relatively self-contained while still telling someone new about its main characters. While the show has been getting constantly better on the visual and technical side, it’s hard to ignore how the horizontal plot has been slowly going downhill after Moriarty's demise, with a few honorable exceptions. By the way, Moriarty's acting was absolutely cringeworthy, even though it gets slightly more tolerable over time. Also, I thought his presence was unneeded in the later seasons.
it isn't as clever as it thinks it is lol
I watched original run. Never read the SH books or interested in SH films etc until saw advert for this. Season 1 gets you hooked with great actors, characters and decent, good storylines etc , The charm of characters remains but story per episode goes from meh-great from S2 one* onwards but still leavea you wanting more i.e. S4 especially more Benedict & Martin , I also miss Mycrofy/* Mycroft & RIP Mrs Hudsson . The TV Show is better than RDJ movie version but both great in their own ways.
Whenever I watch it I just kind of blackout for an hour but I enjoy it.
Season 3 has 4 episodes.
One of the best shows ever!
Best show i've ever watched
The name's Sherlock Holmes and the address is 221B Baker Street.
The name's Sherlock Holmes and the address is 221B Baker Street.
Nice movie in this year
It's good but not 9/10, it's so overrated.
I loved it,best thing I’ve seen since Game of Thrones
This is an amazing concept of their take on Sherlock and Watson!Amazing job BRAVO!!!!
Everyone needs to watch cuz it’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD
Great reinvention of sherlock Holmes
This is one of my favorites shows, I love Sherlock so much!
Sherlock is obviously some of the highest-quality television out there.
Brilliant! Got hooked after a few minutes of watching, then i binged watched everything... it's amazing really.
@frieten Is Torchwood something you would recommend to a Sherlock fan looking for more of the same?
can't wait for season 4!!!
It is good, but it lacks depth.
Awesome show! Smart, always interesting and with a really good catch of the characters...
just amazing very great show
Incredibly cool series (Neveroyatno krutoy serial)
so there is a new season starts on january, 1. why your app is show nothing about?
Beneditch Cumberbatch is one brilliant actor and he alone should already give you reason enough to watch this BUT there is also the interesting mysteries, clever filming and editing, oh right, and Martin Freeman! Brilliant duo for an equally as brilliant show.
When is the 4th season coming out, waiting for this fantastic Sherlock series to continue!!!!(via TV Blaze for WP)
This is a great show, very intriguing and well written. I love Sherlock's thought process as they go through the event's. Can't wait to see the new movie.
Words cannot even start to describe how stupendiferouslly awesome this show is. You can't regret watching it. Unless you're not a fan of torture.Cos the wait for season 4 is tortorous.
Check this out:http://youtu.be/lAai7yjv6v4
I hate the british... Because they are so damn good at making series!! and they make them so short. They sure know how to leave the public begging for more. Two years I have been waiting for the 4th season to come. Ps: I actually love the british, the first setence is sarcasm XD
Brilliant show. Best of the best.
Season 4 starts this December :)
Truly the best show ever
best series ever(after G.O.T)
Not bad, but overrated in my opinion.
Unbelievably smart and witty. Keeps you guessing and stays very true to the original books while mixing in a very modern feel.
Best show ever
Words cannot describe how good it actually is.
I love this Sherlock!
The last season(number 3) was not the best one.
Sherlock is the best!! I'm still dying here waiting for the new season to come out.
Would rate 10/10
The acting and the dynamics between the two leading roles totally shifts this show from so-so to very entertaining. Sherlock's "skills" are sometimes drawn to an almost embarrassing level (one has to be more impressed by his eye-sight than his conclusions when he can spot a tiny speck of material on someone's pants three meters away, and then instantly determine the very specifics of above mentioned material), but we have to forgive the script writers these little slips of logic. They, apparently, do not possess Sherlock's wits themselves.
Dead in the end.
WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN !!! WE MISS YOU.
very smart and amazing cinematography
The best of detective series ever. Ben rocks!
Undisputed most epic show of alltime
show is super cheesy but super entertaining
I have such a love / hate relationship with this show. I love the writing and acting but hate that there are only 3 episodes a season and they always leave us hanging. Trying to patiently wait for next season and failing miserably. I think I feel sorry for Mrs. Hudson the most though, with all this time between Sherlock's cases there's bound to be more boredom bullet holes in the wall and heads in the refrigerator.
“We are in Buckingham Palace, the very heart of the British nation. Sherlock Holmes, put your trousers on!”
"Just once, can you two behave like grown-ups?" "We solve crimes. I blog about it, and he forgets his pants. I wouldn't hold out too much hope."
An awesome TV Show, definitely a must-see!
There is no other show like it! Best thing on TV ever.
3 ep per season but God, what episodes. I love it, all the ep. Can't wait for the next season. I hope the game will never be over.
First I've watched this. I like it.
Season 3 did not start very well but the third episode was brilliant
What an incredible amazing, intelligent, clever, smart, sexy, crazy and last but not least charming show. What they did with the "old" Sherlock Holmes is amazing and brillant, same for Doctor Watson!
The first two Seasons were far beyong good, the third season, especially the first two episodes are not as good as it could be, but still a very entertaining and charming TVShow!
Mixture of: Can't connect it to other shows, absolutely a new "genre"!
Cannot wait for new season at the end of the year
season 3 is a joke! first and second are really good though. what a shame...
does anybody know when is the next season airing?
