Shortest and worst season yet... I've been a fan of the show since its premier, I have been a silent witness to its decline. The last 10+ seasons have been getting worse and worse, the quality of writing has faded to a lazy predictable format, the diverse cast that has been hired looks like they've come straight from an am-dram night at their local church: their acting is as stiff as the corpses. Emilia Fox is still there for now, which is the only thing holding the show together, but even her character has became too preachy. I'm surprised they haven't killed off Jack yet and replaced him for another diversity hire, he's too male and too white... Maybe a disabled, trans, poly, Asian would work better in his role...
This season borrowed from Hollywood's playbook: get old characters back and maybe people will watch. It made for uninteresting watching.
The BBC continue the trend of replacing the best actors/actresses for the job with the right demographic actors/actresses. It doesn't matter about acting abilities, as long as it pushes 'the message'.
