Season 2

I'm not sure if it is better than season one but I’m sure it's got that sense of confidence based on acquired knowledge of what you are doing, the characters, the setting, everything. They know what they are doing, they are confident, they are effective. What a good show.

Solid season despite a somewhat slow start. It was lovely to see again the entire team coming together as a united front to solve the case after all its twists and turns, making for a rewarding viewing experience.

At the outset, I had reservations about River's plot, as it initially appeared to tread familiar genre tropes. However, the show managed to subvert all expectations at the very end, leaving me pleasantly surprised. While I found myself favoring the previous season's "villains" over the more stereotyped Russians, my attachment to the main cast is growing stronger and stronger. I hope most of them will make it alive by the end of the series!! Nobody seems to be really safe.

The second season feels less fresh than the first one, for various reasons. Obviously we know the characters now, and that is at least part of it. But I think this season is perhaps a little less funny than the first one. It just feels a little more conventional in terms of every aspect, not just the story but the feeling of the show.

But they still play with our expectations a little bit. The plot is fairly convoluted and the star of the show doesn’t actually get to have a big moment with one of the main villains.

I still quite enjoyed this for the same reasons I enjoyed the first season, but the returns diminished just a little bit.

Slow to start and I for some reason found this season a bit hard to follow with plenty of superfluous moments…so was not as gripped as in season 1.. lost a bit of interest…had to keep revisiting to rewatch and get through it all
