okay, just finished it. the show is just okay. i personally like how it ended. do i recommend it? no, not really.
I enjoyed half of it but Ryan was annoying , never actually vibed with him, he was really selfish most of the times , I’m glad is only 2 seasons, could have been 1 with 13 episodes tbh
Happy for more diverse content but ended up really disliking Ryan. Took two full seasons for someone to call him selfish. And why’d they wait so long for Ravi?! He was by far the best character. Overall so so and had an ok ending.
While not particularly my cup of tea, it is a good/fine show. It has some quality HBO-ish style of comedy writing to it which will really click with some people more than others. It reminds me of Insecure quite a bit. It is also nice to see the double representation of both cerebral palsy and LGBTQ, despite also realizing that will turn a sizeable chunk of audience away from it. It is quite unfortunate that this show was cancelled after two seasons, because this is one that I could see myself looking forward to annually on Netflix.
Average Season Review: 7.5/10
Recommendation: At Least Give it a Whirl (For HBO Comedy Fans)

Funny, moving, and heartwarming, this is an unexpected delight and I hope we get to see a lot more of Special. Punam Patel steals the show as Kim, but it's a terrific ensemble cast.
