Season 3

Liked this season just about as much as season 2 as a whole, maybe a little better by the slightest of margins. To be honest, I was not really vibing with a lot of this season early on as the show was starting to feel way too redundant and bland without offering much new, but they roped me back in with the final few episodes and left things off on the best arc of the season yet, so my score kind of balances out to make this just about on par with season 2 overall.

About that final season arc, it had genuine tension and felt like the biggest stakes yet and it was really nice to see the show kick it up a notch in the suspense and drama departments. That being said, they did introduce this conflict then end it pretty quickly so it was a bit anticlimactic, but mostly it was pretty great. This season also made me love Louis more and more. Still easily the funniest character, has the most depth/complexity, the best acting, and he was given some great emotional beats here. I was actually hating Harvey for most of this season but by that final arc they roped me back into really liking him again. It was also nice to get so much of Mike and Rachel actually being in lasting relationship. The show still has some issues with its balance of character, though. The prime example this season was the associate that Louis takes on. She was a major presence for a while then it was like she dropped off the face of the earth and it was clear they just didn't really know what to do with her or didn't have enough space in the show for her. Overall, this is perhaps my favorite season yet thanks to that final arc, and would have been even better if the rest of the season was as good. As I was getting a bit bored earlier on, I'm glad next season promises a different dynamic because I really think the show needs it.
