Pandemic films are movies focused on a lethal usually airborne and infectious disease that infects most of the planet. This disease can come in the form of a deadly supervirus, a malignant plague, and sometimes a Zombie outbreak (depending on how its spread).
Zombie infections in many forms of fictions themselves often spread via bite and thus in the context of a 'Pandemic' show, they would not be on this list.

Post-Apocalyptic is narrative set after the collapse of civilisation. How this happened often informs the particular type of story within the setting. It can be after a destructive war (usually nuclear weaponry), an infectious disease, climate collapse, technological collapse, alien invasion or a zombie outbreak. Whilst usually indirectly associated with science fiction, it is not always the case.
Post-apocalyptic settings may also crossover with Dystopian settings, which may depict future societies during times of heavy oppression, violence, and scarcity as a result of disastrous, unfortunate events. Like Dystopian settings, they may also serve as a criticism of contemporary society and social behaviours along with their possible outcomes. This may also crossover with Survival as it follows characters in their struggle for food, water, shelter and protection from the elements.

Do you enjoy a juicy well written Drama's/Mysteries/and must not forget those period works of art! Then stop yawning America and get a taste of some great TV from across the pond!
*note (Hollywood has finally recognized that Americans deserve more, and that includes the Networks. Kudo's to Fox for giving us the "The Following", and of course AMC has broken the mold with "Breaking Bad" and and don't miss "Hell on Wheels", just to name a (tiny) few. Even Netflix has created a formula that works; the first complete season series. (x3), and in my opinion, it works. Hey, maybe it will make that monthly $7.99 seem worth it.
