There you go again Kirito, dropping in at the last minute and solving all your girlfriend's problems, after Yuuki gave her the advice she needed. The only bad thing about this episode. Also, if you wanted to slap Asuna's mother, you're not alone. But as someone who met his wife online, I understand how reluctant the older generations can be at accepting the Internet as a valid way to meet someone. Not all of them, but some. For Asuna's mom, it's not just about the fact that the NerveGear was used to hold her hostage for over two years (the two years Kirito and the others were imprisoned, plus the time she and 300 others were imprisoned by Fairy King Oberon), it's about a world she's not a part of. Her money has afforded her special privileges in the real world, but she doesn't understand the virtual world at all, so it's all foreign and bad to her. Everything she needs is in the physical world, and she's afraid of losing her daughter (again) to the virtual world, and the thing is, she isn't entirely incorrect... though it's easier to see this if you're older. I suspect if you're closer to Asuna's age (17), you'd be fully on her side... but at 38, I might be older than her mother. (Asuna implies her mother was raised poor in a previous episode, so she might have had Asuna at a younger age.) Doesn't mean I'm not rooting for Asuna here, just that I understand her mother's parental instincts.
Boorriiinnggg.... I don't care about Asuna's real life problems. Asuna is a B-story and her real life issues are the B-story for a B-story. In other words, irrelevant. If this is a long term change, as I suspect, I am done with the show.
Kirito and Asuna together is where it's at, so hopefully they stick together instead of this shift to focus on Asuna.
