Tale of the Nine Tailed 2020

Too many fillers ruined the story and characters, I found myself forcing me to finish this, waiting for something good to happen but never came, the main couple was boring and lack chemistry, Lee Rang's story was way more entertained so only the story around him was kinda enjoyable, a huge dissappointment.
My score: 5.8/10

This starts as a solid and straightforward fairy-tale story. However, the plot that was serviceable if simple before falls through very hard in the third part of the series. So full of holes for no reason.... Oh, and the show doubles as a 16-hrs coffee and smartphone commercial.

The actors were mostly good, Lee Dongwook's better role if anything. The support cast as well. The main heroine got the short end of the stick with being relegated from interesting and smart in the first eps to constantly crying in distress and being pretty passive. It wasn't offensively bad, but still dumps the show from solid to merely okay.

It was 10/10 from the beginning 'till like 10th ep. Pretty much when the main pair got together finally after so many interruptions the story started to be repeatitive, simple and cliche. No suspense really. Yeon was what got me through although he too became shallow after 9 eps. Every character had one motivation and 'nothing else matters', always hiding their plans which made the end death so predictable. And ofc the happy ending was most lucky and unbelivable. BUT all in all... nice fairy tale with some memorable fynny quotes from Yeon and fights. Wish it had more paranormal beings at the end.

story wise, it's very poor... and Lee Yeon is still a Gumiho??? after all that roller coaster of emotions and saying that he's human now!!!

A story of loyalty and love
This was the first Korean drama I ever watched and I found myself enjoying it much more than I thought I could. The story, I found, had enough plot twists to keep me curious and confused, but not too many to lose my interest. I loved learning more about Korean folktales, traditions, food, clothing and superstitions in such an entertaining way. I absolutely loved that the character Ji-A was incredibly sharp, brave, and determined, attributes which I haven't encountered in a lot of the female characters in similar "supernatural" productions. The story lines didn't have any loose ends, the characters had great chemistry, and there were many funny scenes scattered throughout the season. The last two episodes had me crying non-stop, and I really hope we'll see a second season soon enough.
