Tales of the City 2019

This was a really well done, limited series. The casting was stellar [Really! Olympia Dukakis, Elliot (then Ellen) Page and Laura Linney, plus a who’s who of Canadian talent. The performances were the best by the best.] The treatment of the era (1966 to present) and the culture (Queer San Francisco) was authentic and interesting (I’m not sure if it needed the sex to be as graphic and the nudity to be so pervasive but that is probably just my personal bias). The eclectic characters were beautifully written and performed and the multiple stories were wonderfully crafted into an ensemble cohesiveness. I give this limited series an 8 (award worthy) out of 10. [Drama]

*The Trakt numbering and descriptions are inaccurate because it confuses the 1994 production (2 season/12 episodes) information with the 2019 production (1 limited series of 10 episodes) information and mixes them together. I noted in the comments on each the correct episode number and description

A gay soap with schmaltzy beats, but hey Olympia Dukakis!
