I think I talked a little too much shit in my pilot comment cause the threads being woven here are actually pretty interesting. It honestly makes me wonder when the shift from episodic to heavily serialized kid's cartoons was. I assumed Avatar kicked it off and SU and Gravity Falls pushed it into overdrive but many TMNT shows were more influential than they seemed cause creating 3 overarching villains and a wider plot linked to Splinter's backstory seems like a lot for a 2012 Nick cartoon.
But maybe all TMNT media was like this and I look ridiculous for being amazed by it.
