Welcome to Teletales, where "Paul Lally tells them", and "Rae Owings draws them". In this series, produced in 1984 by the Agency for Instructional Technology, Paul Lally narrates folk stories, while Rae Owings creates charcoal drawings.
The sequel to 1978's "Gather 'Round", which relied on familiar fairy tales, Teletales concentrates on less-recognized folk tales long out of print - in a sense rescuing fables and myths.
Produced by John Robbins, the team worked together for years on many series, including "Gather 'Round" (1978), "Cover to Cover" (1965-96), "The Word Shop", "The Book Bird", "Storybound" and "Readit". These series were filmed in Virginia for the late Ray V. Gladfelter.
