One of those finales that seem to exist just to make you cry
I watched the entire show in 2021, in my late 20s, and it was only okay. It went downhill mostly, after Vivian was played by Daphne. It's not because of her, but the constant Let's blame Will for all mistakes and let's not take responsibility for our actions theme around the show. Usually shows like this have closure during end of such episodes, which are meant to teach you to be responsible. I don't get that satisfaction here, and I don't like the theme being satirical but the show not actually being much satirical. Will with his weirdass talking and his "You know what I'm saying" and "honeys" in that weird voice is very annoying. A great few episodes, surrounding Will's father, and the last episode with that same feel make it a decent watch.
Some troll who is a fan of the show will think it's their duty to ask me why I watched the show if I hated it so much. Here's why. I didn't hate it. There's a few aspects of the show that made me not like it, but I don't hate it. Will's constant fat jokes towards his uncle, Jeffery's sarcasm, Hilary being Hillary, Carlton's dance moves & most importantly, Jazz (literally everything about him) made me want to watch the show. It's a shame they didn't have Jazz as much possible, he was so cool.
That's a decent ending. One last Carlton dance. A well deserved goodbye to the likeable Banks family. The family will reunite on the East Cost. Sort of. Good for them.
Will stays behind. That's a bit sad although he became more annoying with every season. He's now on his own. Ultimately, he's not part of the family. I know that's his own voluntary decision and at some point he needed to go his own ways. But just like Geoffrey, who is the expandable servant after all, Will isn't part of the Banks family. That's sad. Ultimately Phil never became a father. Phil tried hard, even in this episode. Ultimately I'm not sure Will has or eventually will become the prince he aspired to be when he arrived in California. Will thinks the same it seems. He was pretty sobered. I'm not sure if he will ever take Hillary's job officer in one year time after finishing college. I like that the finale isn't 100% happy though.
One of the best series finales of all-time

The ending to this is so sad, good and realistic, but just a lil' sad.
