What I love about this series is that there's a great deal of effort put in to describe both the cases and how the geneology works. Certain explanations can get repetitive but the episodes are sort of designed as standalones so it makes sense why. The updates at the end of the episodes (esp the Golden State Killer case where 1x06 updates you with the outcome which happened just a few days before the episode aired) tie everything up and highlight just how new this whole crime-fighting process is. Would love to see many more episodes, CeCe is great.
Oh and despite going to many comic/tv conventions over the years, I never knew there were such things as true crime conventions. Huh.
Edit: I really wish this show had received more than one season. I believe Cece Moore posts updates on her Facebook page when she makes new breakthroughs in cases. Would have been important viewing had ABC renewed it :(
