The show was mind-blowing though I found the amount of violence a little too disturbing. However, it might have been done on purpose to drive home the message Shakespeare left us that violence and thirst for revenge can only engender more violence and cruelty and results in the vicious circle of violence. Benedict Cumberbatch was great as Richard, and even though at first I was not convinced about Sophie Okonedo as Margaret, she did a great job and brought a lot of life to that character, who is definitely much more interesting than Elizabeth.
