I have to say I don't like where this seems to be headed. Wes is right that true time travel would be catastrophic, but the ends still don't justify the means. I assume Sarah is on Wes' side now and will try to finish the job in the next loop. It's unclear what that would mean for the 2024 versions of the characters. Arguably, if the machine has never been built, they could be back where they were before the season started.
