I actually prefer a show where everything is happening fast. It's easier for me to follow. So Korra, season 1 is perfect for me so far.
I already really appreciated the Avatar's universe, but to see a female Avatar is even better. Korra is an amazing protagonist.
I really like this show.... except the love triangle. I couldn't care less about Mako and Korra.
Besides the love triangle plot, I mostly enjoyed everything else about this first season. Ended up binge-watching and finishing within a day. I was engaged throughout the season & had become invested in Korra as well as the other characters. It's been a long time since I actually cared about the side characters, not just the main lead or one character so I like that.
I didn't really know what to expect coming into this so some things surprised me. Like how evil the antagonists could be. Bloodbending is quite disturbing. The benders vs non-benders plot line was interesting. Some interesting plot twists as well such as the reveal of Asami's Dad, Yakone, the brothers, Korra losing her powers.
I also enjoyed the other subplots like the conflict between Asami and her dad.
Korra's not perfect but that's okay. She's fierce, stubborn, caring, sometimes messy in terms of relationships. I liked seeing her cry a few times too (3 I think?) as it also shows her vulnerability. And it made sense to cry at those times. Even I felt sad for her in particular in the end when she was crying about losing her other bending powers.
The animations in these were also pretty cool. So great job to the animators. Though some scenes don't have a s much detail which kind of bothered me, but maybe that's the direction they wanted.
I liked the animations, pacing, characters, dialogue, stories. Overall Book One was enjoyable to me. Now, onto Book Two
Pretty good debut season, and the finale was great (except for Korra and Mako getting together after all... I swear, Asami deserved better than this).
It’s “fine” and it does his own thing regardless of the previous show. But it feels a little shallow, it misses deeply charisma and fun in all characters, they all seems very boring. It also just a little less epic than the previous. all the conflicts it’s solved to fast, the vilan it’s gone and there’s no hook for the 2 “book”. It’s good but not great!

Everything just happens too fast, unlike in the other serie. The only character that I liked was Asami. Fights could be a lot better.
