Kind of a moving-piece-around premiere, but Billy Crudup is again the MVP (his role seemingly beefed up after Emmy win, to the point that I wonder if he will now go for Lead this season). His two monologues at the beginning and end of the episode, potentially too overwrought on page, come off so great with his delivery.

Great start to this long overdue second season of The Morning Show. It‘s going to be quite interesting how they handle the pandemic situation in this season. Also great acting by the cast as usual. Really happy the show is back.

For some reason, this first episode of season 2 failed to hook me into watching the rest of the season.

Talk about money on the screen! A very expensive-looking, very enjoyable premiere.

"This is a battle for the soul of the universe"

That's an actual line spoken by a character. No wonder TV critics hate this show.

Would've been nice if they'd have given us a re-cap of the last couple of episodes in season 1 instead of dumping us into a random timeline.
Hope it gets better. 6.5/10

Just because she got struck with some sort of conscience Alex's suddenly the figure-head of the feminist movement? Oookay... And Cory's suddenly Alex's supporter? I hope there'll be some flashbacks to what happened immediately after last season's finale (otherwise, this season could get a bit boring with zoom-meetings etc when the pandemic hits, as it's hinted with the 3-month-timejump at the beginning of the episode).

Otherwise, let's see what happens.

Lot of directions here for the season and while Billy Crudup is gold as ever (he's just nailing this buffony, self-righteous weasel antihero role), my fear that this should have been a one season limited series stays. So far it doesn't look like they will continue the nuanced contemporary social commentary of season one, nor it won't be about the post metoo-era, maybe there's a very tiny road of redemption for Alex, but mostly it seems like they replaced everything with basic power plays and 2020 looming over everyone's head. We'll see.
