The Office

Season 8

I feel that the people behind The Office did not quite know where to go after Steve Carell as Michael Scott left, but still they managed to put together a lot of hilarious episodes! So I have to agree with what Brendyn wrote: the episodes individually were mostly fantastic, but the season as a whole just felt a little weird.

However, I am definitively going to watch the last 9th season!

The episodes individually were actually fantastic, but the season as a whole just didn't feel right.

It is still a good show, but it is hard to fill the gap that the absence of Michal Scott created.

It all went haywire after Mike left, I guess the writers kinda lost the flow without him.

Strange changes and weird interactions, new characters, new locations, general over thinking of the script.

This should be a different show.

Anyone fired from this office will eventually come back. This is the Golden rules of this show

Some of the plots are so unrealistic that is borderline ridiculous

There’s a new manager in The Office as it goes into its eighth season. After talking his way into becoming the CEO of Sabre, Robert California makes Andy the Scranton office manager; meanwhile Pam and Angela get a little competitive in their pregnancies, Dwight is selected to launch a Sabre store in Tallahassee, and Erin gets jealous when Andy gets a new girlfriend. James Spader’s addition to the cast brings a fresh new energy to the show; however, his character is rather inconsistent from episode to episode. And the writing is also uneven; alternating between fun and exciting episodes and dull and joyless ones. While the show is still adjusting to the loss of Steve Carell, Season 8 of the The Office is entertaining and delivers a lot of laughs.

Not the funniest season, but the writing is still good and creative. Also, Robert California is fascinanting (he's one of the best characters of this show) and kind of glues everything together, when he appears. Definitely he will be missed in season ninth.
