That final episode got me feeling like I'd get that in the second season so... that's good I guess.
Nice plot, good start, but kinda sluggish after 2-3 eps. I'm binge-ing it on a Sunday and i hope to finish it. I'm at ep. 6 atm, really looking forward for some action...

The One is a fun concept. It definitely gives me some Wattpad fanfiction vibes. Science guaranteeing your soulmate? That's every hopeless romantic's dream. I love that this show takes that concept and explores it realistically in how it would affect people's attitude towards love and relationships (both in general and their own personal ones). And on top of all that, you add a murder mystery? That sounds like a lot of fun on paper. I think this show manages to deliver all of that adequately, but it's missing some kind of "it" factor that I can't put my finger on that makes it less of a binge and more of an effort to complete. The characters aren't complex enough to truly invest in, and the main character is WACK. Like, what will she NOT do... Although I have to say, the finale was exciting enough for me to say I'd be willing to watch a second season.
