This show is so much better than it should be. Let me make sense out of that statement.
It has more than a few laugh out loud moments per episode. You'd think with the premise it's going to be a series of lazy day-in-the-life side plots, but it actually respects its characters, and their wildly painful blind spots, and puts funny shit in their mouths to say. It plays out hilarious parody scenarios that still feel grounded because it's actually trying to make the joke verses be "extra" or "ironic" in the so often displayed misfires of your other run-of-the-mill Lorne Michaels-must-touch-everything soup of shows.
It's interesting to feel like you both do and don't want to root for the characters. That means they're being treated with subtlety and respect. I honestly don't even know how I found this show, but I'm glad I did. It was funny enough to slow down and replay scenes. It's worth your time.
Hidden gem! I got this recommendation from Reddit and I started watching without really knowing what it was about. I was hooked from the first episode. I found the plot line to be really funny and perfect for the premise. It’s a really easy watch and I think its a show that most people will enjoy.
I was a bit late to the party, but this was a fun and short watch. Despite the quality remaining consistently good, I do feel the first season was the best and third season the worst. I think they did a good job wrapping this show up before it jumped the shark. If you need some good chuckles, this one is easy to recommend even if there are "better" comedy based shows out there.
Average Season Review: 8/10
Recommendation: Watch if You Need Content (For HBO Comedy Fans)
This show was alright. It had some laugh out loud episodes. The only characters that were likable were Lance and Pat. Streeter was ok as well. Molly Shannon was great as pat and Heléne Yorke did a great job as Brooke. The gay stuff was kind of over the top butt it seemed that they were moking them. So if you're homophobic there's that.
Season 1 and 2 are delightful and silly. I was so excited to find this show. Season 3 was icky…the characters were hard to like because they were SO self absorbed.

The way it has grown into its own is amazing. Season 1 was a very nice surprise, but Season 2 has delivered such an outstanding quality of comedy that simply exceeded any of my expectations. Not only the amount of zingers and references per script page was even more so improved, but letting the narrative evolve out of the "loser" genre was the winning bet. Easily one of the smartest-written shows of 2021. And they better keep it going 2022 and further.
