This is hands down the best episode of the show and one of the greatest episodes of any show. Honestly, The Pacific is not quite as impressive as Band of Brothers or Generation War but this episode is better than any single episode in either of those shows. The entire episode focuses of Eugene Sledge's experience in Okinawa which is great because Sledge is the most interesting character and his story shows something that the other characters don't quite show. We see Sledge's journey leading him further and further down the rabbit hole in terms of him becoming disjointed in what is right and wrong and Okinawa is the point where he gets pushed to his very limits. The atmosphere, historicity, acting, and camerawork really throw you into the story very effectively. Definitely a must watch. Hell, you should watch this episode even if you do not want to watch the rest of the series, it is that great.
