Some nice idea, good performances but tries to cover too much ground and often uses clunky writing to try and move the story along or make links between characters.
There was a point half way through where I thought the show was really going somewhere but the next episode was the worst in the series and killed my enthusiasm. The rest of the series was patchy and while some characters were great (Roxy could have her own show), others were less convincing. Some of the interactions were hyperbolic in a soap opera kind of way that left me wondering what the actors thought the characters motivation was or if they were just trying to make it work as best they could. Maybe some scenes were cut out that would have made things more believable*
Believable doesn't mean that something needs to be real. It means that there needs to be an internal logic that forms the world within the show.
I feel like the show could be much more, I haven't read the books but hopefully the next season features Roxy more and as the characters worlds inevitably come closer together, each episode won't need to cover so much ground telling so many individual stories.
