This season became kinda slapstick-y with a touch of "recent" US events, didn't it?
Mediocre season so far and I do not see how this could get better at this stage.
Lopez parts are always annoying as it pulls away from the actual show. West is out of character this particular episode and behaving incredibly stupid, Stanton is shoehorned into the season (even though the actor is pretty good so far), Harper lost her edge, Chen's way too lovey-dovey with Tim.
Good enough for letting this run in the background but S1 was fun, S2 had some great develeopment.
S3 seems to be falling apart at the seams before our eyes.
Feel like the other commenter is watching a different show. The only bit that I'm finding irritating is the cliché 'baby might have a condition' that they're taking Lopez and Wesley on. [sidenote: why isn't Shawn Ashmore in either regulars or guest stars?] I feel it was both bold and smart to open with a racist cop storyline and even bolder to cast one of the loveliest people (Brandon Routh) as Stanton. I know he can portray evil (Chuck is literally my profile background here), but still. Also love what they're doing with Bradford too, having him address is own complicit-ness, even though he isn't actively racist.
Another show taking SJW route. Just make good tv, please? I'm done with this one. Any suggestions for a show that just wants to make good tv?
The TVShow is over/finito/acabado. It was fun before, now it is just a cheap brainwash/reprogram piece of junk. Good work.
I am loving Grey's wife. Luna is sharp and quick. I love her advice to Nolan. I wish we could have seen more of her before this season.
BTW, I love Nolan's mother, too. Francis Fisher is wonderful.
This episode really explains how police unions are too strong and get away with protecting bad cops. I am all for supporting the police. But there needs to be some reforms to get rid of bad cops.
This also shows how cops protecting cops is toxic. Their culture needs to change, now. But it isn't by defunding them. It is by removing the institution of The Blue Wall of Silence and prosecuting those that protect bad cops.
Unfortunately, as a police show, it has to exist in an idiotic "defund the police" climate, which is taking a toll on the story and the fun it used to be. It is a lot less fun than the first two seasons were.
I was going to rate this show lower than I ultimately did. Is this episode fun like the first two seasons? No. Is this the type of show that I want to watch when I am unwinding after a long day? No. Did this episode address a tough issue? Yes, most definitely. This season continues to build on a story crucial to the public's trust in the police. Are they going to protect their own over doing what is right? That is pretty solid TV even if it isn't what I want to watch. I can't fault the show for tackling a major issue like this when it is fairly core to the show. They have enough side stories to keep the show fairly light despite the weight of the main storyline. So far I am willing to see it through.
Somehow, this show comes off as a cross between a telenovela and a lesson. I am not sure I love the mix.
I do love how they add realism and political, societal issues into the mix but it’s not really enjoyable (to me) when it gets to the point where it’s ALL a teachable moment or a slapstick.
Plus: the constant barking dogs in the background are SO annoying!
And can I say I love Lopez's sergeant? I was hoping he would be a good guy and it seems like he is. Supporting a pregnant detective and also saying he will work her as much as she wants, that is the right attitude. Let the woman decide what is right for her.

I'm in doubt about continuing this show. I honestly don't care about that "real" issue that happened last year. It is a show, it's meant to be enjoyable.
It's becoming an irritating show...
