This ep deserves 9 stars, in my opinion. Despite all the hate people launched to this series, there should be a bunch of them admitting that the show is at least average good. This particular episode was well written, directed and acted. And again, no, this isn't TWD! Shares "universe" with it? Of course, but is other kind of show.
It can like you or not. But if you're writing commentaries and giving ratings, that can only mean something... You are still watching it. lol.
Well, the show certainly turned it up a notch with this episode. These flashbacks have been among the best things about the show, along with the CRM scenes, but this one put everything together: a truly unnerving and very sad look back at what happened between Silas, his dad and mom, who became terrified of her own son ("Stay back!") and crushing Silas even more than he already was; well-written dialogue with Iris/Silas, Felix/Silas, Hope/Huck, Elton/Iris and Elton/Hope; Hope's big reveal to Elton; a chilling scene in the yard where the group was holding Silas; a couple creative camera shots; a reveal between the CRM and Huck; and finally, Silas' exit from the group (for now?). I know the show probably can't keep up this momentum every show - and can't do big reveals every single episode - but I hope this is a sign of better writing and more of a compelling show going forward.

I don’t find it believable at all that these sheltered kids have the same level of courage and independence as those we currently see in the original TWD.
This “world beyond” is something they’ve mostly heard/been educated about and barely experienced. There’s a level of fear these characters should be exhibiting that would bring something a little more fresh to this series. Something we at least haven’t seen in a long while. But, sadly, we’ve skipped that journey of character development — and everyone is a warrior already.
