7 episodes in and stuff is starting to click. It's still nowhere near the "one of the best series of all-time" status, but 7 episodes in... this ain't a bad spot to be in.

Martin Sheen's performance at the end of the episode is incredible. It's simple but is so effective. It's crazy to me that he only won one Golden Globe, and no Emmy's for this role. Moria Kelly's Mandy continues to be the weakest character in the ensemble - but this was a better episode for her.

A day where literally everything goes wrong.

Love Janney's delivery of who's wearing what - and of course, Bartlet's conversation with that young sailor at the end. That's some powerful stuff.

The ending of this episode always gets me. It's so simple, yet so emotional and powerful, and of course Martin Sheen is terrific as always.
