At the beginning, it reminded me of Scorpion - but with Aliens. Although the writing was fairly basic, it was actually a good story. Each episode built a little on the others, adding a new aspect to the story that made it feel like it was growing throughout the series. The central premise of the Threshold protocols was quickly forgotten, and largely irrelevant, but that wasn't really a bad thing. The acting of the main characters varied considerably (and as someone who is yet to watch Game of Thrones, I know realise why one of those actors has become so well respected)

Although it was made in 2005, it has aged quite well compared to other alien invasion stories - the only time I wondered was when there was a shot of a Motorola cell phone.

Overall, this felt like it was a lot better than other similar series, and was actually a bit of hidden gem. I liked it.
