Denise is such an underused character! I’m so glad the writers finally took the time to dive a bit deeper into her back story (quite literally). I’m actually mad they took this long into the new season. I was expecting something of the sort, ever since we were introduced to Denise’s family and her will to protect them, but I didn’t think I’d actually get emotional when the team got back to the present.
The show is playing the long haul, regarding Lucy’s journal and her future meeting with Flynn. Unfortunately, I don’t think we get to see this story play out.

I'm confused. Isn't Lucy Flynn's grandmother? How was he in first grade in 1981? Am I confusing something from season 1?
(I just looked this up. Lucy was never said to be Flynn's relative. The relationship between them was never revealed. I don't know where I got my thought from. Watching too many time travel shows, I guess.)
Interesting how Agent Christopher has an accent in 2018 but not in 1981. The auditions team could have tried a little harder with that.
Okay, so the journal seems like that one big plot whole every time travel show has. It's the thing that will never get a proper, logical explanation. It seems to be the thing that'll be left up to fan theories while mostly being ignored by the show...
