So, Nathan is basically Neo, or, in life, was going to be Neo, and was destined to bring social equality to the Lakeview Matrix, however, once the machine found out about his work on the free app, it assigned an Agent or Agents to bring about his untimely demise, and erase all memory of his work from his uploaded mind. However they may have overplayed their hand, as, now, instead of being on the outside, he is now INSIDE the machine, AND has assistance from Angel Nora, which doubles the potential for the skulduggery to be revealed.
On a side arc, Nathan is discovering that the people in techno heaven can be as big of azzhats as people IRL, and conversely, Nora is finding the one person she can truly relate to is a digital representation of a "real" being. As Alanis would say, "Isn't it Ironic?"

So they pulled the trigger on the mystery plot pretty soon to be honest. Like what else is there to say? He was killed because he was making a rival app to Upload for free. Hoping there is something more to the show than that. Nora is lovely bless her
8.5/10 (I already know the story now and would've probably rated it 9/10 when watching it for the first time)
Oh dear, the people of that future really don't have much privacy left... :o
Recording themselves during sex for safety and consent, the ability to see the sex rating of the other party (what a douche btw!), recording pet therapy sessions for quality purposes, and even a privacy mode that isn't (entirely) private.
Nora's boss is so mean. No wonder she was pissed. Nathan handled that situation so well :)
And Nathan's former plans seem very nice! There should of course be much more equality in the afterlife. It does indeed seem likely that he's been murdered when "attacking"/"threatening" such a large industry.

The sci-fi stuff, ethical and moral issues, murder mystery and whatnot are pretty solid, but what truly melts my heart and keeps me coming back for more is the naivety and cuteness of the foreseen romance between Nathan and Nora.
