Here's what i noticed so far. Pence is as nuts as Trump, but he's more articulate than Trump and takes less cheap shots than Kaine. He also looks into the camera, which is directly at the audience, and also plays respectful. He thanks Kaine quite often, even if it's sarcastic and spiteful.
Kaine is all-too ready to defend himself and expose Trump as nuts that he himself takes it too far. He should have answered his own questions and let pence answer his.
Pence had a better stage presence, Kaine has the better answers and facts, but we are an attraction-centric population. When TVs first came on air, the smart, articulate, and qualifying candidate who was originally winning - lost to the more visually attractive candidate. Because Pence has a better stage presence, he might have won this one.
