Best Animation seen so far, looks amazing. The anime itself seems quite good too so far, never thought it would be so emotional.
Painful, yet Beautiful. Make me cry nearly every episode.
Beautiful and emotional anime. Aside from the acting and amazing artwork, the story was an emotional roller coaster ride. The first few episodes were a bit slow but each episode was a special moment. Especially episode 10.
This is a brilliantly crafted and emotional anime. I cannot recommend it more. One of the best things I have seen.
You can read my review on it here: https://takanodan.net/2019/04/violet-evergarden/
I don't know how to say this diplomatically but the Japanese have an obsession with young people as supreme masters of killing. There are endless anime and manga examples of this. But once getting beyond that constant the fantasy set up of a young person so inexperienced in feelings that they have to struggle to comprehend what feelings mean is compelling. Maybe we all have to struggle to understand feelings, just not this completely. I certainly do. Who but the Japanese would make an entire series about 'what are feelings' -- and make it a "cartoon" yet. Are the Japanese more capable of appreciating art than the crass money grubbing americans? It's a puzzle. Are the Japanese better human beings? Or does it just seem that way?
I watched a few animes. This one is the best in many aspects.
This is the single most gorgeous boring series I've ever watched, universal recommendation. Shame Violet has the charisma of a wood board.
The show is an absolute feast for the eyes, I was constantly awe struck by the visuals & in just thirteen episodes there's so much visual variety. Can not praise this series enough
The minute to minute dialogue can get real boring and directly spells out everything but the themes and messages are all good. Thankfully the surrounding cast & world is all solid to help alleviate the dialogue problem
The Anime is incredibly scenic with beautiful animation and a soundtrack that matches its visual splendor.
I was pretty immediately hooked, the episodes felt so detailed and intricate. There was plenty of mystery and intrigue throughout. The flow of the story was somewhat jagged at times but the overarching plot was almost like a vapor that haunts each episode. I really loved treating the war as the antagonist, each episode you could feel it’s haunting echoes. The death of character you just met felt real and painful because you know there are thousands more who died the same way.
I wish that the series delved a little further into the backgrounds and stories of each other character. I think that exploring the backgrounds of the other auto-memory dolls would greatly expand the depth of the story and add to further character development.
Overall, I really loved the way this series was presented. It really is a work of art.
I have been silent crying the whole time at this show.
This is one of those must watch anime(s) with a very beautiful and sad story. Each episode will make you want to watch more and more.
I would definitely be hyped up if there is going to be a Second Season. Fingers Crossed!!!
The animation and music are marvelous. However, to make a entertaining show about a very bland and unemotional character is to have an entertaining cast. This doesn't seem to be that cast as everyone feels whiny and fit into a classical character types.
OP: Peak
Plot: Peak
MC's Back story: Peak
Animation: Peak
ED: Peak
If you enjoyed the TV series, the movie sequels are definitely worth watching. From the series to the movies, Violet Evergarden is an emotional masterpiece; I have yet to watch any TV show or movie that has explored emotions on such an intimate level. Violet Evergarden is one of the few series that has ever struck me so profoundly. While the slow pacing and emotional intensity are not everyone's cup of tea, there is just something magical about watching a character reclaim their humanity by learning to be human. If you want something fun to watch, I would look elsewhere. However, if you want to experience the beauty in a human experience, Violet Evergarden does it best.

Violet Evergarden (TV Series): 8
Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll: 6
Violet Evergarden: The Movie: 10
Overall: 9
One of the most well-animated shows I have ever seen along with a very emotional journey for the main character makes it obvious why so many people love this series. Add onto this the movie as a finale, and this whole story of Violet Evergarden is so emotional and beautiful to watch.
Fantastic...everything about it is just phenomenal. The music, the violence, the animation and the characters, they all work so well with each other. I was a little emotional, just a little. So that means I was very emotional. I cried like a baby, but one damn manly baby. It may not come across in this review how much I fucking love it! I'm already waiting for this moment to watch it again. And next time, I'll cry like a real baby.
This show is at it's best when it becomes a Kino's Journey-style anthology show, with the drifter coming into town to be our camera for various stories.
get rid of the age gap and you have a brilliant anime
I binge watched this show in a day. It has become my all-time favorite show.
This anime really touched me. The story, the music, the art, it has it all.
This show never ceases to make a grown man shed a few tears. It was truly beautiful. Violet was truly the perfect name for such a beautiful flower.
Beautiful animation and heartfelt stories each episode. An anime especially good for young women because it targets issues they might encounter in their own lives, so is relatable, but as a guy I found the pace a tad slow, but still appreciated the moving stories.

The first anime that really comes close to me, very emotional. For me, the anime is a clear 9.
A must see!
