Waterspider survived the winter by living in a snail shell. He comes out at springtime, meeting all the new dwellers around who quickly realize what kind of spider is he.
Waterspider explains the water snails how can he live underwater despite being a spider. The only problem is when he wants to show his most precious garment to his friend living on land.
Waterspider observes the favourite pastime of the water snails, when due to an unfortunate accident Eared Snale loses his favourite toy. The trails lead to the house of the caddisflies.
Cross Spider invites his friend to take a look at his new living room, and build a house on the adjacent twig. He is upset that Waterspider wants to build a house underwater. But how it is possible to keep air underwater with a net?
Waterspider comes out from this house to witness a loud argument. Backswimmer is complaining about some “lurkers”. Waterspider is also becoming suspicious, when his friend Cross Spider calls his attention to something. That’s how Waterspider meets the water fleas.
An unexpected and troubled guest arrives to Waterspider, escaping from the terrible water-stick insect. Waterspider saves him, although he can’t really believe that his guest who would drown without water.
Waterspider’s comfortable life is disturbed when a sharp snail accidentally cuts the pendant cord of the crystal palace. Getting over his initial anger, Waterspider befriends the newcomer.
Waterspider gets into accident twice in a row. Eared Snail convinces him to look after the case, that’s how he meets with the pond skaters on water.
The animals can barely take the summer heat when a big monster comes to the shore from distant lands. Waterspider is the only one who trusts the stranger – until he finds out a horrible sight!
Spiders are playing ball games with frozen raindrops. Too bad that they are quite vulnerable and melt quickly. Waterspider brings up such a good ball from under water that even Cross Spider thinks it will even endure tennis. However the balls behaves strangely, eventually uncovering an unknown world before Waterspider.
Waterspider makes fun of Uncle Crab, but eventually he draws the shorter stick with his joke, getting into an accident. Everyone goes out to help him, but they face a serious problem: Waterspider needs clear oxygen even underwater to not drown.
Waterspider and Cross Spider are rafting on a twig in the lake, when they notice the mischievous behaviour of the flea larvae. Soon they find out the real cause of they behaviour.
Waterspider feels cold and alone, as everyone retreated to their shelter. Uncle Diving Beetle warns him about the upcoming threats of winter. Water Spider realizes he has to move out.
