This episode clarifies for me how Shauna's present-day section feels increasingly uninteresting because it's so cocooned off from everybody else (they are lucky to have Lynskey's charisma for this material), and now the daughter gets tangled in a way that has me unfavorably recall 24's Kim Bauer stuff. Even Taissa who has superficially similar domestic drama still has her section feel more tonally related to the past stuff/present-day hijinks, partly because it skews more psychological and partly because it doesn't take up as much plot mechanic/time as Shauna's.
That said, overall I really liked this ep though, feeling the past stuff all works for me and builds nicely to that fever-pitch ending. Loved all of the adult Misty's reddit adventure.

It was nice of them to have Jackie for dinner. No, wait. I meant to say that something has obviously been eating at Jackie. No, wait. That's not it, either. I meant to say that it's obvious that they're all getting fed up with Jackie. No, that doesn't work, either. Oh, never mind. I can't quite figure out what I'm wanting to say here, so I'll just chew on it for a while.
Seeing the title ahead of time I was trying to connect it to something more than the pun. It's a play on 'Oedipal complex' but not seeing that dynamic here. Just someone being snarky I think :thinking:
Damn after starving for so long I bet baked Jackie smelled amazing! A pretty 'realistic' way to have them move into the cannibalism.
And I know Adult Shauna killed Adam but I'm really annoyed the cops are onto her :sweat_smile: poor man did nothing wrong but I'm rooting for her.

Best episode of the whole series so far (but that's not saying much).
Also, for a dark show half set in the 90s, the wait for the first Radiohead track was surprisingly long.
Not a fan of all the supernatural stuff
