Jesus CHRIST, those Jimmy scenes bought this episode to a HALT, why is he still in this show?! He’s bringing nothing to the main plot and he’s so incredibly boring, holy fuck
Extra points for John finally putting Beth in her place. Funny how Beth is always telling Jamie that all he cares about is John's approval when the same can be said about her. The first time John says he's disappointed in her she breaks down. The Kayce stuff this episode was pretty cool. Jamie continues to be a frustrating character after I loved him in the earlier seasons and feels like they're wasting his potential as a great antagonist this season. And Jimmy is already moving back to the ranch? Is it just me or has he not even been in Texas very long and he's somehow ready to go back already? It felt like he did nothing the whole time he was down there and now all of a sudden he's cowboy enough to go back? What was the point of the show even sending him there?
Yawn Beth, calm the fuck down …
Season 4 has been very disappointing so far. Another filler episode. 90% of this season has passed and there is no plot progression in the story. What has been the point of this season? Advertising for Sheridan's other shows? I preferred Yellowstone when it was actually about Yellowstone and not Sheridan's 20 other TV series. Count me out for season 5 if things don't change back to actually Yellowstone.
9 episodes in and I'm wondering why I've seen Jimmy more than Kayce or Jamie. I'm not the least bit interested in following Jimmy's progress in Texas, he somehow get more screen time even though he's off to another ranch. Can't stand any of his parts. He looks like a complete idiot. He's weird and awkward. I don't know whose idea it is that people want to watch Jimmy make out, but please stop. He has been with two girls that are way out of his league and it’s not convincing at all. Fast forwarding through all of his scenes. .
Why has this show become a music video? I fast forwarding through all the cheesy cowboy scenes.
That Beth/John thing was not epic. It should’ve been. Maybe John Dutton has amnesia? Because he wanted Beth to fight his battles precisely because she’s evil. I mean, I'm glad Beth got a taste of her own medicine, because her childish temper tantrums are beyond cringe at this point. I can tell she’s the product of a male writer’s idea of a ‘strong woman.’ But why are the writers trying to act as if John doesn't know what Beth is like all of a sudden?
It’s weird to me that they allocate like 3 minutes per episode to the Jamie/Randall/governor race plotline. Was Randall just randomly in the dinner when John showed up? I thought the dynamics were interesting between the two but I couldn't figure out if Randall was just waiting for him there and if so, how did he know John would be there and at what time? This whole “Jamie’s bio dad being the master” revelation has taken way too long. How has Kayce not once yet asked Jamie about how that conversation went with the prison dude? Yellowstone has become a Jimmy and Beth show.
I am a little confused what's happening with Kayce right now. I don't understand why they are doing this? Has he done something wrong? It's interesting that Mo's comment about Monica mirrored what Kayce said to Avery.
I’m not sure that all of the torture (both literal and figurative) was necessary to get to the actually kind of great Jimmy moment in this episode, but thank god he’s finally headed back to the Yellowstone.
Another dead episode! Nothing happens or progresses for the storyline.
Beth and his dad broken relationship plot could easily be put in other episodes and this episode can be erased then the progression of the plot will still be the same.
