I had a false start. Watched the first episode when it came out and gave up, just wasn't feeling the humor, the characters, anything. But a critic I really respect loved it, so I decided to give it another shot, and boy, I am so happy I did. Binged the whole thing in about three days and, oh, my, what a roller coaster of emotions. This show managed to fill my heart with hope and joy, and then crush it in such a beautiful way, I'm not even sorry it did. Now come on, HBO, how is this not renewed yet? Leaving us hanging like this is just plain cruel.
It has a few charming characters, but to be honest, the show failed to captivate me. I'll finish the season, but it's not one I'll eagerly await for the next one.
David Dawson deserved an Emmy for this.
