Terrible movie. The kids were 100% the worst part of the movie. .
The action is extremely generic, some of the scenes are way too dark in HDR (Game of thrones season 8 syndrome) and the dialogue by the children was very annoying. Everytime a child spoke on screen, it was annoying. The only credit I will give is the premise itself.
A good premise shoved into a generic cheap action movie.
Solid comedy flick. Script is weak and it won't win awards but it's a really fun weekend watch. John Cena excels at comedy.
This is not as good as other Verhoeven movies for me even though it's widely considered as his best. The most comparable movie to this one is Starship Troopers and I think that is better. The movie has aged really well and is considered a far better movie now than when it was released. I'm not sure if this is because the satire is reality now.
I do think the movie is over-analyzed a bit especially with the bits of how the movies halves are mirrored perfectly. It is good screenplay and the signature Verhoeven gore, satire, commentary on military exists. It does have some of the most quotable lines I've ever heard.
Did not land for me. The tone was very confusing. It felt campy at times like a bad version of Superbad and it felt absurd at times like Anchorman.
Would not recommend.
I feel like 8 is harsh because the choreography in this movie is so good. Much better than the famed John Wick. However, the pacing is off. I honestly wouldn't mind if the movie was even shorter because the third act drags.
Mad Dog is an amazing villain.
One of if not the best foreign movie I've ever watched. I'd put this up on the pedestal right next to Goodfellas. The cinematography is top tier.

What a fantastic show! I will watch everything directed by Hader now for sure. His ability to mix in comedy with gruesomeness is unparalleled. I really want to see him go all out in making a dark comedy movie. I heard that he aspires to direct horror and i would watch the hell out of it.
As for the ending, the whole time jump did in fact leave a sour taste in my mouth because it took the momentum of out the show. If it wasn't for that, I would give this show a 10.
I would rank seasons are S3 >>> S4 > S2 >> S1.
This is probably one of the most underrated shows to come out in the last 5 years and deserves all the accolades.
The acting is definitely a highlight to complement the writing. Nearly everyone's performance deserves awards but a special mention to Sally Reed.
Would have been a 9/10 movie but the plot is too convoluted. I liked the twists. My issue was the dynamic between the villains. It just did not make too much sense.
The story is a little bland but the fight scenes are amazing. One of the best martial arts movies I've seen. It's aged really well too.
I really like this movie but I completely understand those who don't. The actual plot is lacklustre but it has a repeating chaos that never let's a single moment go boring. The directors were not going for Oscars with this one.
If fun is your objective, constant chaotic fun, watch it.
