The film sits like a memory. It is possible to love your life and also grieve for the life not lived. Perfect.
At its best when it concentrates on the people together in the house. Less successful when the setting moves away or dialogue turns to exposition.
The stuff with the animals makes zero sense in the context of the film.

Turns out mockumentary is not as easy as Christopher Guest makes it look! Perhaps also let down by a lack of affection for it's characters, we seem to be invited to laugh at not with them.
A simple effective film which tells the story of the strength we can derive from those around us and how they can give us the strength to not give up on our dreams. Enjoyable.
