This is so trash. If you don't take it serious it is very amusing. Gangsters Paradise!!
Forget bad CGI and critics on this one. This is just fun. If you're up for an 2000s TV-esque time travel alternative reality scifi flick go for it. The cast seems to perform like knowing this a great joke, especially Kingsley. This makes it very watchable.
I mean respect for pulling this together, but keep feeling the cast deserved more story and true emotional interaction instead of nonsense.
I have questions. Why zooms the CEO in a wardrobe fake room. And what on earth about Angelas back story? Seems the only thing that matters is not explained at all?
Appart from all quirks the sensation of watching Kravitz beeing Angela glued my eyes to the screen, but I dont know why.
So intense and thrilling. Even today...
I have to contradict most comments here, this is a great parable on civil war and current society, not a story about photojournalism. Those journalists acting as a tool, a train driving through the story to show the gruel reality there: total numbness, inhumanity and resignation about the people and circumstances of the conflict. Only glimpses of their background and feelings are shown, apart from fear. Nothing is questioned, morale is absent.
Garland leaves his usual void to fill in your thoughts and it is working brilliantly here. No one wants to wake up to a reality like this, but the way it is told is unsettlingly plausible.
A bit slow, but appart from great Eiffel tower scene this features a good and experienced Hackman - also driving a subway, a Golf and even a Trabant! Nice.
Best Antonio Banderas movie I remember :D
What a waste of CGI. And a story full of holes like as deep as the deepest sea godzilla was woken up from, not emotions at all. Even the best scenes like the free fall one seem to be just a reuse...
much better than those reviews. fun!
Effects are absolutely on top. But who wrote that script? Some dialogs seem ripped from a kind of worlds most humorless comedy show. Great potential but the realization is a total mess.
