That last scene - that final shot - of this season’s Fargo finale is one of the most surprisingly moving and uplifting things I have ever seen on TV.
Chekov’s gun … in space!
It was nice for Bob from Twin Peaks to drop by and do an interpretive dance.
Great start to the season.
Finally some titans doing something!
A fantastic and surprisingly open documentary on a true comedy icon.
I want to believe that the obvious twist is a red herring for a more interesting one. But, so far everything - including the series title - would suggest otherwise.
Still, well made with good performances all around.
Great show, but odd choice to sideline Pike I. The first episode of season 2. Still it gave others a chance to shine.
Baby Reindeer is as phenomenal as it is difficult to watch. And it raises incredibly complex questions about victimization and victim blaming.
The performances are uniformly incredible. Richard Gadd (who also wrote) gives a brave self aware performance in this story based on his real life experiences of a struggling comic’s dealings with a stalker.
Jessica Gunning’s turn is so multi-layered and brilliant. She is by turns terrifying and sympathetic, sometimes in the same scene. It’s a masterclass in acting.
Nava Mau (who is a trans woman) is pitch perfect as a trans woman Gadd’s character is truly in love with, but can’t emotionally commit to because of his baggage - past and present.
And Tom Goodman-Hill is chilling as a producer who acts like he’s helping Gadd though he is grooming him for assault.
It’s a very tough watch, and ultimately has some controversial messages. But it is strong stuff and impressively executed.
Well, that took a turn.
I’m not sure they could have made a smarter more meta ending.
As I had hoped, the show needed to get past the setup before hitting its stride. A great mystery!
Good silly (albeit gory) fun.
Based on this episode, it’s hard to tell if this wants to be a cringe comedy (Curb or Schitt’s Creek) or an earnest drama with comedic notes. It’s not quite enough of either to tell. Still, well done and I like the cast. I’ll give it a couple of episodes and a “benefit of the doubt” 7 for this episode.
Which multiverse part was that weird mask from? That’s what I want to know.
Guys. I don’t think this one’s going to make it.
I missed the whole “Defying Gravity” number somehow.
It’s like Zelig, but with physicists and not as funny.
It’s a shame Porkins and Wedge weren’t on hand for this.
I don’t know. Feels like the other Star Wars movies were better.
So, that’s a thing that happened.
The Great Gatsby meets The Usual Suspects. And gets uncomfortable a few times?
Well made, but it did almost feel like two movies that collided at around the halfway mark.
Uniformly excellent performances and visually compelling, but it feels almost like the Gatsby half took up too much air that the other half needed.
I guess you don’t mess with the special investigators. Or so I hear.
Delivers on its premise just as Snakes on a Plane did. The title is the entirety of the film’s premise.
The Truman Show, but with guns and punching!
