The dog dying when his owner dies is heartbreaking.
This show does a great job illustrating the more interesting aspects of military life (lack of supplies, hurry up and wait, etc) wrapped into a very well done experience. Don't listen to any other triggered twerps in the comments tell you otherwise.
It's like they took the worst aspects of Indiana Jones, Interstellar, and the new James Bond and sprinkled in some dinosaurs.
