Highly rewatchable in my book. What’s not to love about a giant space monster that eats star ships?
I like that they didn’t tease the fact that the wormhole is a deception and let the audience in on it right away. There’s enough mystery to keep the episode interesting and engaging.
Jeri Ryan is great and I love when she’s able to lead an episode. The scene where she transports to engineering looking like Linda Hamilton with a phaser rifle and starts blasting is amazing.
I actually kind of liked that the episode had a sort of sad or somber ending. Often everything in the ST universe works out perfectly, so it was a nice change of pace to see that they were just too late to be saved.
I want to enjoy this, and can see how people would really like it…but I just find it so silly and somehow boring. I find the idea of photonic based life forms really interesting but they don’t do anything with it. I’m a completionist but this episode tests my limits.
