This is better than many Marvel superhero movies, fight me.
The worst thing about this movie is the CGI. Great plot, cool action scenes, an over the top crazy characters.
Is nobody going to mention how good of a Churchill Rory Kinnear has delivered us?
The great part of this movie is that it combines all sorts of styles, courses of action, can be taken seriously and can be taken as a parody. From the Tarantino-esque use of chapters and their design, to the exaggerated toughness of the main character (heavy use of deus ex machina), or the somewhat serious presentation of what "sisu" means, you'll surely find something you love about this movie (and possibly something you hate or dislike). Definitely worth a watch!
A documentary which raises the very important question of nature vs nurture and how humanity relates to it. As you watch more the episodes, it clearly shows how social scientists are not only very rigid in their thinking, their theories, but they seem to be totally against arguments that contradict them and do the utmost to discred those ideas. However, their lack or actual arguments (besides the omnipresent "I believe that...") would make any sane person to believe they are clowns.
This way of thinking is a danger to science and, by extension, humanity.
Good cinematography and that's about it...
I feel like this and all of The Purge movies don't reach the full potential of the story/subject.
The people who say this movie was boring are probably Michael Bay fans.
Simply superb. Tom Hanks wonderfully portrays a grumpy old man with a "too big of a heart" (you'll get it after watching) who eventually warms up to life and becomes the father figure of a whole neighbourhood.
The way that tomahawk with the rope attached to it moved around just killed it for me...
I don't even know where to begin... The comedy of exaggerated absurd situations that could, however, be totally real in the the post-communist russian society makes the film so lighthearted. This lightheartedness then begins to slowly intertwine with a thread of tragedy that lies behind to so well hidden secret of the connection between Andrei Filipov and Anne-Marie. And as the story goes on, the absurd, the clumsiness of the orchestra members disappears and molds into a perfect harmony that finally reveals the grand secret.
